St. Patrick Parish & School welcomes Fr. Matthew Brumleve this July.
April 11 1959 : Born in Akron, Ohio but grew up on a farm in the small community of Sellersburg, Indiana. 1977: Graduated from New Albany High School.
1977-1981: Attended St. Meinrad College in St. Meinrad, Indiana. Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy.
1981-1984: Theology Studies at St. Meinard.
1984-1986: Attended College of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas.
1986-1988: Attended St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Graduated with a Masters of Divinity Degree in 1987.
May 14 1988: Ordained to the Priesthood by Bishop Andrew J. McDonald for the Benedictine Community of Subiaco Abbey, Subiaco, Arkansas.
1984-1992: A member of the Benedictine Community of Subiaco. Taught American History and Religion at Subiaco Academy, a boarding high school for boys. Also a dorm supervisor for freshmen for several years and Chaplain of the Academy for one year.
1989-1990: Summer school at the University of Arkansas Little Rock and Assistance at St. Edward Parish, Little Rock.
1992: Moved to Kansas City, Missouri.
1992-1993: Employed at Stroud’s Oak Ridge Manor in Maintenance and Landscaping.
1993-1994: Taught at St. Patrick Grade School. 5thgrade homeroom, mathematics and social studies.
1994-1996: Associate Pastor of St. Mark in Independence, Missouri, with Fr. Jim Healy as Pastor.
1996-2004: Pastor of St. Patrick in St. Joseph and St. Joseph in Easton, Missouri. St. Patrick had a school at the time.
1996-2008: Director of Continuing Education for the priests of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. Served 6 years on a national board of continuing education directors. (NOCERCC)
1998: 4th Degree Knights of Columbus
2004-2013: Pastor of Holy Family, Kansas City, Missouri
2008: Completion of 150 hours of Death and Grief Studies at the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, Colorado.
2013-2018: Pastor of St. George in Odessa and St. Jude in Oak Grove, Missouri.
