“No one ever spoke like this man!”
Building a personal relationship with Jesus
At the time of his untimely death, Jesus had lived only 33 years, and we know very little about the first 30. But through the Good News of the Gospels we know a great deal about those last three years. The Gospels have etched into our consciousness indelible images of Jesus: the infant in the manger, the wedding in Cana, Jesus visiting his friends Mary and Martha, weeping for his friend Lazarus, delivering the Sermon on the Mount, standing before Pilate, suffering on the cross. And those images come alive with the words of the Gospel, the words of Jesus: the Beatitudes; the parables; his Passion, Death and Resurrection. They are words that inspire and comfort us, form our lives, and nourish our souls. In the 2017 Coffee and Theology series, Father Robert, Deacon Mike Lewis and fellow parishioners will share their relationships with Jesus. In the end, we will know this man, Jesus of Nazareth, more deeply, more joyfully than we ever have. We will know why the Temple guards proclaimed, “No one ever spoke like this man!” Join us Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45 AM, in the Jubilee Room, for Coffee and Theology…and donuts.
