Ms. Monaghan’s Message – January 25

Good morning St. Patrick families, There are many exciting opportunities coming up in the weeks ahead!   *  STEM Activity Day and Open House for new families is coming up this Sunday, immediately following the 11:00 school led mass.  We are hoping to see a lot of new faces at this event!  Please invite friends and family who might be interested in learning more about our school. *  CSW begins this weekend at our 11:00 mass. Many students will be serving at mass this weekend!  All students are asked to wear their uniforms to mass this weekend and will receive a dress down pass for doing so. *  We have many different dress up days and classroom donations going on this week.  Be sure to check the newsletter to learn more about these.  Our service project this week is creating “giving bags” for the  homeless, and we will also serve our school/parish as well. *  Wednesday January 29 is the NCEA Day of Givign Campaign, where for 24 hours we invite you and your family and friends to donate to our school! *  Friday, Feb. 1 is Grandparents Day!  Please invite grandparents to join us!  We will begin in the gym at 7:45am and the activities will conclude around 10:15.  Grandparents are invited to stay for the volleyball games after if they would like. *  Feb. 7 will be our Kindergarten Enrollment night at 6:00.  If you have a child entering kindergarten next year, we invite you and your child to join us for this fun filled, informative event! *  Feb. 7 at 7:00pm we will host a representative from the Missouri 529 program to talk to our families about using the 529 program to earn tax deductions on educational expenses.  This is a really great opportunity for all of our families! Catholic Schools Week Mass and STEM Activity Day this weekend!

Good afternoon St. Patrick families, While I’m bummed about the “ice” day, it really was the best decision.  I hate canceling school, because I know it causes a burden for our families, but early this morning, the roads were just not good.  I wanted to take this opportunity to send home a couple of reminders for the week ahead.   Sunday, January 27 Student Led 11:00 Mass: Cross Bearer:  Evan Angotti Servers:  Derek Phillips, Jason Hall, Cora Nolan Gift Bearers:  Ella Phillips, Charlie Janning, Landon Ziegler Introduction:  Avery Ziegler 1st Reading:  Nik Hamilton (this is a long one, so let’s give Nik some huge props!) 2nd Reading:  Noah Gibbons Intentions:  Deacon Mike Bulletin Helpers:  Maria and Robert Hausman  (I could use 2 more if your child is interested) Thank you note helpers:  (handing out thank you notes from our students)  I could use 4 helpers if your child is interested Many students have volunteered to sing a song they have been rehearsing with Mrs. Davis.  Mr. Hamilton will play the piano for them.  If you know your child will NOT be able to attend, but is signed up, please let me know.  The list is below: 2nd GradersIzzy Maddie  Katherine Morgan Kason

(Anyone on the above lists).  Every child who wears their uniform and attends mass will receive ONE dress down pass.
STEM Activity Day:
This event is meant to be an open house to invite new families to see what opportunities are available at St. Patrick School, while giving their child a chance to experiment with legos, robots, videos, math games, Makerspace, and more!  Word of mouth is the single best way to increase enrollment at our school, so we are asking you to invite friends, family members, parishioners with small children, friends from dance class or karate class, friends on outside sport teams, etc. to attend this fun filled event.  If your child brings a friend to this event, he will receive a raffle ticket to be placed in a a drawing for St. Patrick Swag.  The friend will also receive a ticket to be placed in a separate drawing for “new families” and could receive some St. Patrick swag.  So….invite 5 friends, receive 5 tickets!
All new “students” who attend this STEM event will leave with a goodie bag that includes some fun items and information about our school.  Snacks will also be provided!  Most importantly, this event is FREE to children ages 2-14.  Please, please bring a friend and invite them to learn more about our school!
NCEA’s Day of Giving Campaign:   This year, St. Patrick School is joining in the NCEA’s Day of Giving campaign on July 29 .  This is a day where people across the country can give to the Catholic school of their choice.  The most important thing to remember is that no gift is too small!  We are encouraging each of our families to give on this “day of giving” as a way of showing your appreciation of St. Patrick School and catholic education in general, but also, share the link with your family and friends and inspire them to join in on this day!  More information will be sent out as the day of giving draws closer!
CSW 2019:
Our students will be participating in many faith filled activities and service projects throughout the week.  I am attaching a graphic of our Dress Up Days and Classroom Donation challenge items.  We thank you so much for your support and for helping us use this week as an opportunity to be true disciples of Christ….while having a little fun along the way!  Please note that Wednesday, January 30 is a UNIFORM DAY.  We have mass on this day, and do not want our students to be out of uniform.  Please do not allow your child to use a dress down pass on this day. We have many other fun dress up days plan for the rest of the week!
Grandparents Day: We are so excited for our Grandparents Day on Friday, Feb.1st!  Have you invited grandma and grandpa to attend?  If you don’t have a grandparent close by, feel free to invite an aunt, uncle, or other family friend to attend with your child on this day!  An official schedule will come out later this week, but grandparents are invited to join us first thing in the morning at 7:45am and stay until 10:15 – or until our noon dismissal.  We will have donuts and coffee, photo booth pictures, games, singing, dancing, a living rosary, and more!  We can’t wait to show our grandparents how much we love them and appreciate the special role they play in our students lives!
This is going to be a fun filled week with an action packed weekend.  If you’re free on Saturday afternoon, 2 of our First Lego League teams will be competing in regionals at Metropolitan Community College off of Front Street.  Visitors are invited to show up after noon to support our coaches and their teams!
Have a great day! Kaci Monghan Principal St. Patrick School
